The Passing of a Rotarian - James Johnson
Posted by Tom Copeland
It's always difficult when we lose a Club member and never more so than with the passing of James Johnson on October 6, 2010.
James was the driving force behind our current website and has been our webmaster for several years. He has been the Chair of our Internet Committee and this year was the Club Director responsible for Community Service.
Along with others, I had the pleasure of working with James on the Internet Committee and in the evolution of our website. He had an amazing way of steering things in the right direction. He provided guidance and opinion when needed and allowed others to prevail when momentum was with us and the goal was in sight.
James was always genuinely interested in the well being of others. I never had an encounter with him when he didn't ask how I was doing personally and how my business was progressing. Most importantly, he was genuine in his interest and concern.
James was joined in Rotary by his wife, Shirley, when she became a member of our Club in 2006. Together they could be counted on to take up any task within the Club when asked, and more importantly, without being asked. Our thoughts, and prayers are with Shirley.
We will miss you James. Thank you for your friendship and fellowship.
