Angus Read
passed away on October 21st at 82 years of age. Angus was a "larger than life" man who lived life well and full. He was a devoted husband, father, public figure and Rotarian.
Visitation:
October 27 - 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., MacCoubrey Funeral Home, Cobourg
Funeral:
October 28 - 2:00 p.m., St. Peter's Anglican, Cobourg
He gave of himself to his family, friends, Church and community. As the Mayor of Cobourg he brought vitality, vision and hope for the future. He will be sadly missed but joins his beloved Bernice who passed away in September.
Earlier this year, Angus published his memoirs, 'Don't Tell Me It Can't Be Done, The Story of Angus Vaughan Read'. The book looked at his life as a lad on the praries, through his military career and his three terms as Cobourg's Mayor.
Our condolences go out to Brian and his family.
